Arrival by train

Traveling by train from Germany or any other European country, you can easily access the train schedule from the Deutsche Bahn website (www.bahn.de) or on the equivalent website of your native country’s railroad company. Your arrival station is »Trier Hauptbahnhof«.

Coming from Koblenz

  • Take highway A 1 until Autobahndreieck (highway junction) »Moseltal« and continue traveling along A 602 towards Trier. Shortly before the highway ends, take a right and continue left on the roundabout. Follow the signs reading »Universität«.

Traveling from Aachen, Liège or Prüm

  • Traveling from the A 60, you can enter A 1 towards Trier at the Autobahnkreuz (interchange) Wittlich. Take highway A 1 until the Autobahndreieck (highway junction) »Moseltal« and continue traveling along A 602 towards Trier. Shortly before the highway ends, take a right and continue left on the roundabout. Follow the signs reading »Universität«.

Traveling from Luxemburg
You are approaching Trier from highway A 64, leaving this highway at the exit »Trier/Bitburg«, taking the direction of Trier onto road B 51

Traveling from Saarbrücken, Pirmasens

  • You leave highway A 1 at the Autobahndreieck (highway junction) »Moseltal« and continue traveling along A 602 towards Trier. Shortly before the highway ends, take a right and continue left on the roundabout. Follow the signs reading »Universität«.

Traveling from Konz, Saarburg

Traveling by plane

The closest airport to trier are Frankfurt/Main, Frankfurt/Hahn, Cologne/Bonn, Luxemburg and Saarbrücken. Traveling from North, Central or South America, Asia, Africa or Oceania, we recommend either Frankfurt/Main or Luxemburg as destination airports.
Traveling from Europe, the airports in Saarbrücken, Frankfurt/Hahn or Cologne/Bonn might be better options. Frankfurt/Hahn and Cologne/Bonn are also frequented by low-budget airlines.

Arriving at Luxemburg airport
The bus line 117 by bus company Voyages Emile Weber connects the two cites of Luxemburg and Trier repeatedly throughout the day. As an alternative, you could also take the regular city bus from Luxemburg airport to Luxemburg train station and take the train to Trier. Arriving at Saarbrücken airport
Saarbrücken airport has a direct bus connection to Saarbrücken main train station. From there you can take the train to Trier: www.bahn.de.
